Edward M. "Bill" Risner, age 92, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 7:20 PM at his residence in Alger, surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 15, 1921 in Salyersville, Kentucky to Buddie and Lula (Lewis) Risner who preceded him in death. Bill was married to Elsie Nichols and she preceded him in death.
Bill retired from the railroad.
Surviving are two sons: Buddie (Gloria) Risner of Albemarle, NC and Edward (Stacy) Risner of Elida; three daughters: Lula (James) Stimmel of Riverton, WY, Betty (Harmon) Walters of Wapakoneta and Rose (Gary) Kennedy of Rushylvania; two step sons: Darren (Tonya) Bailey of Cridersville and Eugene Bailey; a son-in-law, Larry Fleming of Ada; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren; a brother, Forrest Risner of Kenton; a sister, Hortense Stovall of Chicago, IL
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Thelma Fleming and an infant daughter; a son, J.C. Risner; several brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Bob Dye officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call 2:00-6:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2014at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
