Roberta J. Joseph, age 82, died on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 3:05 AM at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton. She was born on July 25, 1933 in LaFayette, Ohio to Harry Russell and Zella (Long) Hawk who preceded her in death. On February 17, 1951 she married Thomas E. Joseph and he survives in LaFayette, Ohio. Roberta retired from Allen East High School after 20 years as a cook. She attended LaFayette -Jackson High School and the Ohio State Beauty Academy. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of LaFayette, where she played the organ for several years. Roberta was a member of the LaFayette Community Choir and the Lima Sweet Adelines of Lima, Ohio. Roberta was a survivor of Breast Cancer for 36 years. Roberta is also survived by two sons: James (Amy) Joseph of Lima and Kevin (Teresa) Joseph of LaFayette; two daughters: Kaylene (Dorvil) Patton of Harrod and Kelly (Scott) Deardurff of Munford, AL; seven grandchildren: Miranda Jo Patton, Monica Lee Patton, Jesse Dale Patton, Bailey Joseph, Atlanta Joseph, Chelsea Joseph and Haley Joseph; two step grandchildren: Ryan Coates and David Cole Fryling; four step great grandchildren; and two sisters: Norma (Paul) Scott of Sutter Creek, CA and Marilyn (Jim) Dwiggins of Cummings, GA. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Joseph; and three brothers: William, Max and Wendell Hawk. Memorial service will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the LaFayette Congregational Christian Church at 201 West Main Street, LaFayette, Ohio with Alan Joseph officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the church.
