Philip Dean Roy, age 67, of McGuffey, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at his residence.

Philip was born on September 21, 1956, in Lima, Ohio to Loyd F. Roy and Bernice (Compton) Roy.  His mother and stepfather: Bernice and Virgil Yoakam and his father Loyd Roy preceded him in death.  On August 16, 1991, Philip married Brenda S. Zupp and she survives in McGuffey.

Also surviving is a son, Paul (Alexis) Roy of Bellefontaine; two daughters: Amy (Eric) Bruckelmeyer and Brittany Roy all of McGuffey; five grandchildren: Lanae, Dakota, Holden, Jemma and Bowen; three brothers: Anthony "Tony" (Mary) Roy, Gary Roy and Rex Yoakam; and six sisters: Diana (Wayne) Purcell, Shirley (John) Blumenschein, Janet Drumm, Darlene Goss, Vickey (Jim) Parker and Pam (Phil) Risner.

Philip previously worked as a welder for Carter Steel of Bellefontaine for twenty-four years, then at Kenton Structural for nine years and finally at Accubuilt in Lima.  He also worked for Trillium Farms and construction with Dave Miller.  Philip loved fishing, swimming and being outdoors.  He loved being with his family.

Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger with David Holbrook officiating.  Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Tuesday, October 17th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
