Mary E. Pope, age 79, died on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 7:30 PM at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kenton, Ohio.

She was born on September 11, 1939 in Alger, Ohio to Finley and Agnes (Burris) Hughes.   On June 22, 1991, Mary married James F. Pope and he died September 18, 2016.   She was previously married to William Irvin Decker, Sr.

Mary was a home health aid.

Surviving are three sons: William I. "Chip" (Christine) Decker of Harrod, Steve (Angela) Decker, and Craig (Melissa) Decker both of Alger; a daughter: AmberKaye (Donald) Webb of Alger; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, MaryAgnes Decker Ash; two brothers, Donald and Delbert Hughes; and two sisters, Dorothy Donnal and Charlotte Hughes.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Mark Andreasen officiating.  Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
