Martin Schaad, age 99, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 6:37 PM at his residence in Harrod.

He was born on August 19, 1920 in Watkins, Iowa to John and Selina Schaad.  On December 24, 1947 Martin married Idelia Barnhart and she survives in Harrod.

Martin worked for Neon Signs in Lima.  In his later years, he and his wife worked craft shows and enjoyed wood working.  He enjoyed tending his garden.  He was U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII.

Martin is survived by five children: Dianna Sandoval of New Mexico, Danny (Wendy) Schaad of Port Clinton, Debra (Steve) Doepker of Lima, Darla (Bob) Ackerman of Harrod, and Dean (Michele) Schaad of Mansfield; daughter-in-law: Melanie Kershner; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and two sisters: Helen Barnes of Rushmore and Hilda Mumma of Ada.

He was preceded in death by a son: Dennis Schaad; two grandsons; son-in-law: Billy Sandoval; and three sisters and two brothers.

Private family services are being held at a later date with burial in Salem Cemetery, Westminster.
