Obituary

Lydia M. Scott, age 88, of Lakeview, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at her daughter's residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 27, 1935 in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Jack and Dellia (Montgomery) Risner.  On May 27, 1950 Lydia married Alfred Scott and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2011.

Lydia was a homemaker.  She attended the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by a son, Larry (Meri) Scott of Zanesfield; a daughter, Terri (Rod) Summers of Rushsylvania; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Lydia was preceded in death by four sons: Michael, Ernie, Mitchell and Rodney Scott; a daughter, Sherri Caudill; two grandsons: Rodney "Nondo" Scott, II and Scott Prater; two brothers: Roy Risner and Sam Risner; six sisters: Pat Holbrook, Martha Builderback, Mint Bays, Arizona Collingsworth, Bessie Vincent and Nancy McBride.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger with Pastor Mark Andreasen and Pastor Bill Prater officiating.  Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
