Larry Merritt, age 77, of Alger, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 26, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to the late Guy and Phoebe (Manual) Merritt.  On January 31, 1970 Larry married Brenda Hawley and she survives in Alger.

Also surviving are his children: Guy Merritt of Alger and Lisa Ashafa of Lima; four grandchildren: Anthony Merritt, Amiah Jones, Jaimee Merritt, and Elijah Ashafa; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Bennie (Jan) Merritt.

Larry was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Merritt.

Larry retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked as an Electronics Technician.  He was a member of the GTO Association of America.

Private family services will be held at Preston Cemetery, Alger.
