Kathleen Gerlach Carothers, age 95, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 7:38 AM at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on August 27, 1926 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late T. J. and Myrtle (Wright) Holbrook.  Kathleen married Raymond Gerlach on September 12, 1942 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1992.  She later married Harold Carothers and he preceded her in death in 2003.

Kathleen retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton where she worked as a nursing assistant.  She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Kenton.  Kathleen loved her flowers in the spring, her animals, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter: Sherrie (Dennis) Wilson of Belle Center; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great children.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her son, Larry Gerlach; a daughter, Lorna Pryor; a great grandson; and two sisters: Bonnie Spradlin and Jane Cockerell.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Preston Cemetery, Alger with Pastor Steve Holbrook officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Faith Baptist Church, Kenton.
