Joe Dwight Rose, Sr., age 100, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 3:52 AM at Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

He was born May 19, 1920 in Alger, Ohio to the late Arnett and Eula (Houchin) Rose.  Joe first married Mary Louise Losey on November 24, 1940 and she died on November 8, 1986.  Joe then married Dorothy J. Rose on August 19, 1988 and she died January 11, 2018.

Joe was a farmer.  He was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple before moving to Florida.  He was a 1938 graduate of Alger High School.

Surviving is a daughter: Patricia (Joe) Saltzman of Ada; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and two sisters: June A. Richardson and Betty Jean Richardson.

He was preceded in death by a son: Joe Dwight Rose: two daughters, Sharon L. Jones and Priscilla Wyss; and two brothers, James D. Rose and Jack D. Rose.

It was Joe's wish to be cremated.  Private family services will be held at a later date.  Burial of ashes will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
