James P. "Jim" Towey, age 75, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at 5:20 PM at his residence.

He was born on May 22, 1945 in Ada, Ohio to the late Leonard "Pat" and Evelyn (Wilcox) Towey.  On August 12, 1972 Jim married Jan M. Beining and she survives in Ada.

Jim retired after thirty years from Allen East High School where he was a Science Teacher.   He also worked as a farmer, and served as the Tennis Coach for St. Marys High School, where they were four time WBL Champions.   Jim also coached 9 ^th grade basketball at St. Marys and Allen East.  He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Ada.

Jim is also survived by his two children: James L. (Christine) Towey of Carmel, IN and Katherine A. (Brian) Beam of St. Marys; six grandchildren; and two sisters: Jean Kronenberg of Piqua and Janice (Jim) Miller of Troy.

Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements.  Face coverings must be worn while attending visitation and service.

Private family services will be held at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Father Ed Shikina officiating.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.  The funeral service for James will be live streamed on the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services Facebook Page beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
