Jacob Ryan Shubert, 26, of Lima and formerly of Vonore, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, April 5th, 2024
He was born October 30, 1997, in Oak Ridge Tennessee, to Robert and Ellen Shubert. On October 4, 2019, he married the love of his life, Julia Elisabeth Hardy, of Lima, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Hardy Shubert, his parents, Robert and Ellen Shubert of Sweetwater, TN, brothers: Robert (Bailey) Shubert, of Lenoir City, TN, Joshua (Tawny) of Loudon, TN, Jeremiah Shubert (Dana McAllwain) of Sevierville, TN, Joseph, Nathaniel and his sister, Mysterie, of Sweetwater, TN and grandmother, Mary Wilson Wagner, his in-laws Brad and Jamie Hardy of Lima, OH, sister-in-law Anne Hardy of Lima, OH, aunts and uncles: Eugenia (Curtis) Nichols, Vanessa (Randy) Clark, Stephanie (John) Roberts, Jean (Rodney) Wilcox, Teresa (Robert) Lewis, Penny (Tim) Robbins, Karen (Arne) Krysiak, Phillip (Stevi) McMullen, Grandparents who proceeded him in death, Vance Webb, Robert L Shubert, Sr. and Penny Diane Hunt.
Jacob graduated from Sequoyah High School in 2016. He went to Bryan College to play baseball. In 2018, he joined the US Army. He was a communication specialist who attained the rank of sergeant after only 4 years in the military. During his time in the Army, Jacob was deployed overseas twice, once to Saudi Arabia and once to Qatar. In the Army, Jacob earned his bachelors degree in business. While the Army wanted Jacob to make it a career, on November 12th, 2022 he moved to Lima with Julia and started work at Hardy & Hardy Co.
During his time in Lima, Jacob mentored young kids in the Big Brother Big Sisters program. He also joined and eventually ran the Christian organization Young Life at Shawnee High School. He was instrumental in affecting the lives of high school kids. He was also an influential member of The Church at Allentown.
Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at The Church at Allentown, 4900 Allentown Road, Elida, Ohio 45807 with Pastor Neal Whitney officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at The Church at Allentown, 4900 Allentown Road, Elida, Ohio 45807 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Young Life, 3605 Shawnee Road Lima, Ohio 45806 and/or The Church at Allentown, 4900 Allentown Road, Elida, Ohio 45807.
